Ruth's Chris Steak House
WAC Lighting Illuminates Ruth's Chris Steak House in Niagara Falls, Canada When Beth Donner created the lighting plan for the brand-new Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada, she selected WAC Lighting for their LED lighting solutions. With so much cove lighting designed throughout the restaurant, fluorescents would have been the traditional way to go, however, Beth and the lighting designers chose to use LED luminaires for their uniformity of light, efficiency, expected lifetime, and minimal maintenance. "We found that 90-plus percent of the lighting would be on during operation, so we agreed to use LED lighting from WAC," explained Angelo Guerin, Account Manager. "We installed LED recessed and undercabinet lighting at the POS stations and food prep areas and flexible LED tape in the bar and counter areas." All WAC Lighting recessed units were modified with 1-watt minimum load electronic transformers and LED MR16 style lamps. Four-inch open reflector down lights deliver even illumination to the main area, while four-inch gimbal ring luminaires are used to wash the walls with indirect light. Three-inch step baffle down lights were used to light the long hallway in an irregular decorative pattern. For hard to light areas such as ceiling coves, wine bottle and bar areas, shelves and toe spaces, the designers chose 3000K InvisiLED Pro LED tape light for its ability to fit seamlessly into tight spaces, adding depth, texture and function to the space, while also highlighting the detailed ceilings. InvisiLED's dimming capabilities allowed the light levels to be customized using the restaurant's internal control system. "We are very pleased with the final lighting outcome," said Mauro Rosati, Manager of Ruth's Chris Steak House Toronto. "All components work so well within the space."
